Overview

ToolMint ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our website at toolmint.app.

The short version:Most files are processed in your browser and never leave your device. For the few tools that need server processing, files are deleted within one hour. We don't store or access your file contents.

1. File Processing

Client-Side Processing (Default)

The vast majority of ToolMint tools process files entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly (WASM) and Web Workers. When you use these tools:

  • Your files are never uploaded to any server
  • Processing happens locally on your device
  • No file data is transmitted over the internet
  • We have zero access to your files or their contents

Tools that process files locally display a green privacy badge: "Processed locally — your files never leave your browser."

Server-Side Processing (Fallback)

A small number of tools require server processing (e.g., DOCX to PDF conversion). When server processing is used:

  • Files are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Files are processed immediately and not stored permanently
  • All uploaded files are automatically deleted within 1 hour
  • We do not read, analyze, or share your file contents

Tools that use server processing display an orange badge: "Your file will be uploaded for processing and deleted within 1 hour."

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve our tools and user experience. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Browser type and device information
  • Country and language preferences
  • Referral sources

GA4 does not collect any data about the files you process. Analytics data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.

You can decline analytics cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics data is collected.

3. Cookies

We use a minimal number of cookies:

  • Consent cookie: Remembers your cookie preference (essential, always set)
  • Analytics cookies: Set by Google Analytics only if you accept analytics in the consent banner
  • Language preference: Remembers your selected language (essential, always set)

We may display ads through Google AdSense to support our free tools. If enabled, AdSense may set additional cookies to serve relevant ads. You can manage ad preferences through Google's Ad Settings. We do not use fingerprinting techniques.

4. Personal Information

ToolMint does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use our tools.

If you contact us via email or our contact form, we collect only the information you provide (name, email, message) and use it solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel: Website hosting and delivery
  • Google Analytics 4: Website analytics (with consent)
  • Google AdSense: Advertising (may use cookies with consent)
  • Formspree: Contact form submissions

Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Retention

  • Files: Client-side files are never stored. Server-processed files are deleted within 1 hour.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default.
  • Contact messages: Retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time (via the cookie consent banner)

Since we collect minimal data and don't require accounts, most of these rights are fulfilled by default.

8. Children's Privacy

ToolMint does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our tools are designed for general use and do not target children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
